Cruising / Sailing FAQ - Sail with the Colsmiths

Yes, come sailing with us. See the Where are you, and where will you sail to? section for more information on when we will be on the boat. If you want to go sailing at some other time you need to charter the boat and have us go with you. We have the boat in charter with Conch Charters. We may be able to get you a discount, so let us know if you want to charter it. That is assuming more people really come sailing than visited Marcia when she was in Ecuador or Puerto Rico. (It's nice to know my Mum loves me and will visit me anywhere.)

We have also have a what to bring sailing.

When we are in the US VI, we pick people up in Charlotte Amalie on St. Thomas (airport code STT). In the British VI, we can sail almost right up to the Beef Island airport on Tortola (code EIS). The airport is just a short walk from the water.

If flying to the BVI, it is usually cheaper to get round trip tickets to San Juan, Puerto Rico. From there it is a cheap flight to wherever we might be, Tortola BVI, or a small island off Puerto Rico, etc. Also, strangely enough, the flights are generally cheaper overall if you book them separately. However, since we will be in the US Virgin Islands most of the time, fly directly to St. Thomas as that is cheaper. Most airlines go there.

Travel agents may find you a better roundtrip deal. However, we have found that using Travelocity or something like that will get the best prices. For more information on booking cheap tickets see the Colsmith's travel page.

Send us email as soon as you know when you want to come.
