Pictures of Peru by Jim Colsmith Page

In September 1997 Jim took a business trip to Peru. Marcia came down from Quito. Here are some of the things that they saw:

We happened to be in Lima on the day celebrating the festival of Santa Rosa de Lima, which was on 8 September 1996. Lots of interesting people in interesting customs, playing weird instruments. This is on a church off of Plaza Boulizani, but it was happening all over the city.

The Avinetia Arequipa is a boulevard that has nifty statuary in it. One is a set of 3 lamas that just look like they need to be ridden. The plaza it self had a weird Second (third?) empire building in it.

We stopped by the University of Lima, which was founded in the 1700's They are busy restoring the buildings Just out side the university, is a nice park with a clock tower and a church.
