Amnesty International  Fighting human rights abuse all over the world - they always need people to write letters to various countries to help free those imprisoned for activism, religion, etc.

Southern Povery Law Center  CIvil rights defenders, have successfully sued the KKK and a variety of white supremacist groups.  They provide educational materials along these veins to teachers in schools in the U.S.  Tolerance.org is an offshoot of theirs, whose purpose it to promote more tolerance amongst people.

EMILY's List  Supports Pro-Choice, Female, Democratic candidates throughout the U.S.   EMILY is an acronym for Early Money is Like Yeast, a big phrase in politics evidently.  They really help get good candidates elected.

We have recently learned that we are part of the Voluntary Simplicity movement. (And here we just thought we were bums.) Some great environmental websites related to preserving the earth and keeping life simpler are New Dream and Simple Living. They have numerous interesting articles, they are free, they can help you get less junk mail, they never sell your email to anyone if you sign up to do easy email actions, etc. Recommended highly!

National Women's History Museum  Don't know much about it, it will be near the mall in Washington D.C. someday.  Sally Ride sent out a letter about it and I have always admired her (I got to be her guide briefly when she spoke at my university.  I was almost speechless if you can imagine that.)
